Birth and Death Records

The Clerk’s office cannot provide certified copies of birth or death records. These records are either provided by Jackson County Vital Records or the State of Oregon, depending on the length of time that has elapsed since the birth or the death.

 

A certified copy of a birth certificate can be purchased up to the day before the infant is 6 months old at Jackson County Vital Records.

 

Death certificates are also available within 6 months of the date of death at Jackson County Vital Records. There are two types of death certificates: a long form and a short form. The short form became effective Jan 1, 2014, under House Bill 2093, and is now the type required for property transfers and vehicle title transfers.
